Takahashi Rumiko’s popular manga series, “Ranma 1/2“, would be getting a special live-action drama adaptation starring actress Aragaki Yui. |
The original “Ranma 1/2″ series depicts the story of a young boy named ‘Ranma’, who transforms into a girl after being splashed with cold water. The special drama will be an original story based on Ranma’s fiancee, ‘Tendo Akane’.
On October 7th, Johnny & Associates Inc. announced that two NEWS members, Yamashita Tomohisa and Nishikido Ryo, withdrew from the group on the same day. Yamashita will pursue his solo activities, and Nishikido will focus on his activities in Kanjani∞. Consequently, NEWS will continue their activities with four members: Koyama Keiichiro, Kato Shigeaki, Masuda Takahisa, and Tegoshi Yuya.
Arashi would release a new single called “Meikyu Love Song“, which will be used as the theme song for Sakurai Sho’s upcoming drama, “Nazotoki wa Dinner no Ato de”.

CNBLUE has announced that they will make their major label debut with the single “In My Head” this fall! In order to build up experience, the Korean band travelled to Japan in 2009, where band culture is strongly rooted. For approximately half a year, CNBLUE held a series of street lives and live house performance before they released their indie debut mini-album “Now or Never“. After putting out six subsequent CD releases, CNBLUE held a successful Zepp tour in January 2011. Their major label debut single “In My Head” will be released on October 19th in two different versions: a limited (CD+DVD) version and a regular CD-only version. The limited edition comes with a DVD containing both the PV and ‘off-shot movie’ for the title track, in addition to a 52-page photo booklet.Source: TokyoHive
It’s just been revealed that Matsuyama Kenichi and Koyuki, who recently got married in April, are expecting their first child! The couple made their announcement to the media through a fax sent by their agency. Koyuki, who is five months pregnant, wrote, “I am starting to feel the joy and responsibility of taking care of this new, tiny life within me. I hope to take care of myself and prepare myself for that day with the help of my husband, Matsuyama Kenichi“. Matsuyama also wrote, “Today, I’d like to inform you that my wife is pregnant. We will be the first people that our new baby will see. On July 11th, a press conference took place for “Message from Japan“, a video message produced by the Ministry of Foreign Affair’s Japan Tourism Agency, starring the popular Johnny’s group Arashi.
In order to help with the slump in tourism after March’s Tohoku Earthquake, Arashi introduced places from all over Japan to show the world the charm of these various areas. The film will started broadcasting on the big screen in New York City’s Times Square, and will be shown in over 133 countries and regions around the world.
Tabloid blog Cyzo Woman published an editorial this week with supposed evidence that idol Yamashita Tomohisa might be leaving his group NEWS to officially become a solo artist.
On June 3rd, tabloid magazine Friday posted a photo of Yamashita and founder and head of Johnny’s Jimusho, Johnny Kitagawa, after a nice dinner on the town. After the photo was released, this comment was taken from “a reporter who knows a lot about Johnny’s Jimusho”:
“The third man in the photo, who had dinner with Yamashita and Mr. Johnny, was Warner Music Asia Pacific’s Lachie Rutherford… He’s the one who supposedly helped Akanishi Jin get a global contract with the company, and attended the press conference in December [announcing Akanishi's solo activities].”
