EXPLOSION of Fukushima-Daiichi Powerplant and JE boys condition after Earthquake and Tsunami

"A HUGE explosion blew off the roof and walls of Japan's quake-hit Fukushima No. 1 nuclear plant." ~ Herald Sun
As soon as i woke up i opened my laptop to check the latest updates on Japan and i felt sad and terrible about the news. After the devastating earthquake and tsunami, here is another tragic event that Japan needs to face -- the explosion of one of their nuclear plants and another possible tsunami to hit due to the continuous aftershocks.

Aftermaths of the Japanese quake and tsunami
With all these happenings, I felt that i need to do something to help even in my small little way. I just can't sit around and watch as others suffer. So I checked on Google on possible ways on how to help and i'm so happy to know that there's already a lot of organizations that are on their move in gathering donations and spreading information on how we can help. So in my own little way i did a little research and gathered some useful links on how we can help.

Here are some of it:

  • Japan's earthquake: How to Help (MSNBC) - this site contains list of different organizations who are eager to help the victims of the Japanese quake. It also includes the different opinions of readers regarding whether to donate or not. Read along the comment section and i leave it up to you on what you think about what they say regarding theor point of topic.
  • Habitat for Humanity
  • Mercy Corps
Before giving any donations online, make sure that links for the site are legitimate. Make sure that the sites have URL address beggining with "https://" before making any donations/payment; these means that the site is secured and make sure to do a little research about the organization.

Giving donations is not the only thing we can do to help.

For any who have loved ones abroad, Google has stepped up to help. Along with a tsunami alert posted on its front page, Google has launched the Person Finder: 2011 Japan Earthquake to help connect people that may have been displaced due to the disaster. Google has also launched a crisis response page filled with local resources and emergency information. ~ HuffingtonPost
